Rich Land.
An < annual rental of £563 Us for 90 acres of agricultural land is not heard of everyday m the Colonies, yet such is the result of a recent auction sale at Bacchus Marsb, as the following paragraph from the local Express will show ; —Ninety acres of land at' Wollaston, Victoria, the property of Mr James Hood, were jet recently tor potato growing, at the eatraordinary average of £6 8s 2d per acre. The land is within two miles of Warrnambool, by way of the Merri Punt, and its proximity, together with its richness, operated m inducing keen competition. Some of it went as high as £7 6s per acre. , The peiiod of lease is from July Ist, 1883, to May Ist, 1884. For this period the owner receives the large amount of £563 14s rent. Ihe land was let by auction on the spot.
