Evelyn Ashley, Parliamentary Under-Secretary tor Coloni-s, justifies the action of Usibepu m the battle against Cetewayo at Ulundi. In the House of Commons,^ Mr Gladstone said that the Agents»General's despatch had not caused the Go» ?srnment to reconsider the decision rived at with regard to the annexation of New Guinea. I ; A monster meeting of Bradlaugha supporters, cumbering 40,000, has been held m Traialgar Square.
