Saturday evening, when it was announced that all the capital had be^n snbsribed. The name of the company was decided to ba the Patea Steam Sawmill and WoodWare Manufacturing Company. Much interest is awakening here m the Frozen Meat Question, Communications bave been sent to the Auckland and Wellington Companies enquiring upon what terms they would erect works here. A public meeting will be held to.« night to consider the hospitaj question. There is a strong feeling against the institution being closed. This Day. A public meeting was held list night to consider the question of keeping the hospital open, It was unanimously resolved that such was desirable, and a committee was appointed to take steps to as certain best means of f< ruling an Hospital Board, and the amount of money likely to be subscribed m the district.
