The Ooromandel correspondent of the Evening Post wires as follows :—fteports cpining m from ouodistricts tell of a lamentable destruction of roads and bridges. -In some parts there are great chasms, a hundred feet deep, across the road, as if caused by an earthquake. A man at Cabbage Bay was jammed be» tween logs, and four of his ribs were broken. He is m a precarious state. At Whan^apoua 2000 logs came down Vone creek, and carried away a bush Hiouse with twenty men m it. The occupants had a narrow .escape. At Kennedy Bay hundreds of legs were carried put, to sea. The total damage to roads and -bridges m Coromandel is estimated to be at least £12,000. The mailman is missing frcm Kennedy Bay. fle was due on Saturday, and has not arrived yet.
