\ The Municipal Corporation Act con* solidaces eight Acts relating* to Boronghs, and repeals a number of Provincial mdinances. Clause 4is new. an<l exempts the Crown from the operation of Acts of Parliament unless specially named. In all proceedings befose the Assessment or R.M. Courts, the Town Clerk may act on behalf of the Council. Chairmen of County Councils and Road Boards are comrellfld to give the information required by Boriugh Councils for rarryincr into effect the provisions of the Act. Mayo r s of Boroughs failing to sen! statements of receipt* and expenditure, assets and liabilities, to the Colonial Treasurer by April Ist m each year, are liable to a penalty of £5. A two-thirds majority of r<it payers is required to admit of amalgamation.
