A letter was aeSeived from Victor JTorngvisfc appljing for the transfer of his iotefest m section 10' Block IV.,Makuri, to Jacob Monson. 'I'he application was' granted oa the \ usual conditions. '* The Mari'awatu Highway. Board applied for sanction of the;expendifcaie of £92 6s 3d, deferred payment money,- on' -bush falling arid clearing m the Kairanga Block. The Qhairman stated that a letter had been received from Mr John Gillespie, tbe holder of a deferred payment sction m tbe Kairanga Block, protesting against the] Highway Board spending money on works which would only benefit cash sections, and drawing attention generally to tj^e^satisiactbry.way the . Highway Bqasd had carried oat drainage work m the block^ He alspjread his reply, to. .-tKe-SEaiiawatu 'Highway- Board, covering an extract from , ■Mr Gillespie's latter. A.B yet, no reply hai been received. The Board approved of the actios of the Chairman, and it was^ Agreed"' to allow the matter to stand over a further communicatioajiad been} received from the Highway Board. James Ryan wrote, for inability to meet Daymen ts due on deferred payment section 1603, Kairanga; and it was resolved to allow the matter to stand over for^ the present. A^h application was received from James McMillan, asking for two years' extension of time for payinffinstalments dae on deferred payment sections 35 and 50, bock VII., I Mangaone. The chairman stated that the Ranger's report showed 20 acres to have been felled and grassed, and that the maii arid 'his family were residing on the land. It was resolved that the Board will n^t, under the circumstances; insist upon prompt payment. A letter was received from Mr D, Chamfer, of Woodvills, sfatirig what section WBS considered the most suitable for a cejnetery at Pahiatua, and it was resolve 1 that the request of the settlers for setting apart of section 5, bloefc VEIL, Manghao Survey District, con- , taining 113 acres — say, 50 for a cemptery and 63 for a public park, be| recommended to the favorable considera-, tion of the Hon. the Minister of Lands J
