BANK ROBBERY. (by electric telegraph copyright.) (reuter's telegrams.) Melbourne, April 18. The Colonial Bank of Australia at Brunswick, 2£ miles from this cia| was i robbed yesterday of £715. Thßheft was committed during office houi"s. Toe manager was momentarily absent, and upon his return found ' that a drawer had been unlocked and the money ab« stracted. It is believed that the thief is a. youth, but he has not up to the present time been arrested. Sydney, April 18. In the Legislative Assembly this evens ing the Postmaster-General tabled a resolution regarding the San Francisco mail service. The motion provides for the extension of the present service for a period of two vears, the subsidy being fixed «t £50,000, of which £18.750 ig to be contributed by New South Wales, on the understanding that the contract time Bhall be shortened by 24 hours for 1 the first tear, and 48 hoars lor the second year. The Company to be relieved of the obligation of keeping a fourth steamer in the service.
