Messrs France v Jenkins, and France, report wages :— Uarpenters, 10s ; bricklayers and, plasterers, lls to 12s ; .painters and glaziers, 8s to 10s ; plumbers and gasfitters, ,83 to lls ; quarrymen. 8s to 9s ; iay labour, 83 ; blacksmiths, 8s to IQs ; bakers, L 2 to L 3 ; draymen, L 2 to L 2 10s ; storemen, 353 to 50s ; gardeners 7s to 8s ; milkmen, 25 to 30s ; hotelmen, barmen, and night porters, 25s to 40s ; waiters, boots, and kitchenmen, 20s to 30s ; cooks, 30s to 50s ; grooms, 25s to 353; housemaids, 12s to 16s ; general servants, 12s to 14s 5 nursemaids, 8s to 10s ; laundresses, 4s per day ; barmaids, 30s to 40s ; boys, 7s 6d to 15s. Female servants very scarce.
