There is great excitement tare and i n the County about the pardoning of Te Kooti. Threats are freely made that should he ever appear here he will be shot down like & dog, whether ho is par* dbued or not. Hopes are expressed that Sir Wm. Jervois will not endorse the action of the Native Minister. Wellington. This Day Epiha Taha, a iNative who was tried at Auckland m January last on a charge of shooting at a surveyor at the Thames with intent to kill, and sentenced to three years' penal servitude, has been pardoned by his Excellency, on the grounds that it is understood that the deed was committed Jby his hapu.
