Wellington Water Supply.
THE WAINUIOMATA TUNNEL,
f Wellington Paper.] We mentioned a short time ago that the men could hear each, other's picks, and at 4 a.m. on Saturday last the men working from either end of the Long Tunnel at theWainuiomata waterworks 'met at' the centre, and' through the aperture made m the rocks shook hands together. So exact were - the calculations made for the work that the line was found not to have deviated even an inch m the two sections. The com* pletion of the piercing of the tunnel marks an important stage m the progress of the Wellington waterworks.
