The cricket match, Canterbury v Otago, was resumed to-day under the most favorable auspices, the weather being delightful and the wicket m good order. The second innings of the Canterbury men terminated for 94, leaving Otago only 92 to win. At 1 80 o'clock the visitors had scored 15 with two wickets down. The match ended m favor of. Canterbury by five runs, after a most exciting finish. At lunch-time the score stood at 52 for three wickets, and Otage was expected to win easily, having 40 runs only to get. Wilding, however, bowled splendidly, and, despite the determined stand by the Otago captain, the match was lost to the southerners when vie* tory was fairly within their grasp.
