To-day, being the 43rd anniversary, of the Nelson Province, was kept as a close holiday. As nsoal the Friendly 'Societies held: a fete,- and this was at-, tended by about 2500 persons. It proved a great success. , The sports were good,, but all the competitors belonged to the provincial district. Wellington, Feb._2..
