Mr G. W. Ihe remainder of Mr Kuril's letter is not to the point, nor would it be creditab c to the writer were we to publish it. Tbis, on reflection, he will admit. As possibly an injustice may have been done Mr Russell, by inference, we k1i».11 make inquiries from those who witnessed the incident to which our correspondent aliuded, several of whom arenow resident m Palmerston.. We shall then be m a position to state what really occurred, under what circumstances, who were the principal dramatis personre, and where the locale. It is quite possible Mr Russell may be trying to wear a cap whi'h does not fit him, ani which was.never intended for him However, the published narrative of fact* can injure no one, we should say.
