The Hamilton Murder.

When the jary returned to consider their verdict th* court was packed. There was not standing room for another person m any pavt of the building. On the jury coming into court, after an absence of hall an hour, and giving a verdict of iVot Guilty, there was a sen<* sation m Court. One or two pereons attempted to applaud, but without response from tha crowd. Mrs Hamilton displayed nearly the first sign of emotion since the trial. The effect on Priesiley was different, but equally manifest. His Honor m discharging the prisoners said :— " Foley Collan Priestley, the jury have found you not guilty of the crime of wilful murder of which you stood charged. Before discharging you, I "will just say one word, namely, that yju have brought on your present position by your own fault; by your indiscraet familiarity with a married woman, and m endeavouring to account for your absence from your lodgings on {he night m question by a falsehood. 3? ou are discharged. Marion Hamilton, you, a married woman, have brought yourself to this position by your indiscreet familiarity with a single man, and by talking indiscriminately of your family troubles. Your case should be a warning to others not to commit such indiscretions." '
