Earthquake at Taupo.

(herald correspondent.) Taupo, Jan. 23. At about twenty^five minutes to four this morning, one of the severest shocks of earthquake waß felt here that has been experienced for years. The oscills ation of the earthquake was from southwest to north«eASt. The tremor of tjhe ground lasted tally one minute.. No damage was done.
