The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is <£1 1,400,000, an increase of £900,000 since last Thursday. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has advanced to 41 per cent. .Consols are quoted at 100£, being an advance of £. ; The market rate of discount has declined to 3£"a ftil-of £.'> The bank rate continues at 5 per cent. •-■ Adelaide wheat has advanced Is per quarter, and to«day is quoted at 59a $ ex war house. New Zealand wheat remains at 44s to 475, according to quality. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 335. Tptal quantity of whoat afloat for Great Britian, 2,280,000 quarters ; 20,000 leBS than last week. Australian tallow has advanced 6d to Is per cwt. To-day's prices- are— Best beef, 33s 6d ; best mutton, 465. The best selected kauri gum is quoted at £12 10s, being an advance of 7s 6i per cwt.
