Mr Gamble, the Auckland agent of tne Pacific Mail Company, and iVTr Ormstead, a special agent from America to make arrangements relative to the renewal of the San Francisco mail contract, arrived by the ; Ringarooma this <aorning. They will have aninerview to-morrow with the Premier and PaymasternGeneral, but it is understood that no defiaate agreement can be come to until the views of New South Wales nre distinctly pronounced, as the matter must largetv depend on the action of that colony. New South Wales objects to th« loss of time experienced m deviating to Auckland, and it is probable that the substitution, of Russell as the port of call will be strongly urged on ' the New Zealand Government,
