Webb, Stock Inspector, with exposing sheep for sale infected with lice. Defendant, - who pleaded guilty, said he would not have offered the sheep for sale if he had known they were infected. Correspondence was read as follows •■ From the Board re High School matters ; from same staling that the Board's attention had been drawn to the dread ful holocaust which occurred recently in one of the cities in the United States, whereby hundreds of children were either burned to death or killed as a result of a school building catching fire, and asking for a report as to whether there are adequate means for the speedy exit of children in case of fire at the local school The Headmaster was requested to furnish a report re the means 9 of exit in case of fire at the school. The Truant Officer handed in a list of names of children whose parents have not complied with the School Attendance Act. After discussion it was decided to send final notice to parents of children mentioned in the report that the Act will be enforced for the future. *» ' On Tuesday evening last at the Horticultural Hall His Worship the Mayor, Mr F W ' Thorp, entertained the Councillors, Town Clerk, Overseer, and Press representative at dinner. A most enjoyable evening was spent, a number of toasts beir.g honoured, including the "Prosperity of the Borough" proposed by His Worship, and ably responded to by Cr ; Canavan The catering was in the capable hands of Mr and Mrs C Young, -who carried out their contract in a highly creditable manner.
