OBITUARY.

Died, at the Three Kings Institution, during the last month, Pepene, a pious local preacher in the Wesleyan Methodist Society. We have not been informed as to when or where this interesting young man received his re ligious impressions. Most probahly his "knowledge of salvation by the remission of sins" took place while under the care of the Governor of the Institution, the Rev. A. Reid. Pepene was several years at the Three Kings, and he exhibited in his daily actions that holy principle which reigned in his heart, for he remembered the words of the Lord, "by their fruits ye shall know them." A day or two before his decease, a Christian friend visited him, and inquired after his health. As there appeared little or no hope of his recovery, the question was asked " are you afraid to die ?" "No," was the mild reply, "I long to depart, I hang upon Jesus Chist and I shall soon be with him for ever."

Such testimony for the truth illuminates the page of this country's history, andwc are involuntarily led to exclaim, "let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his."
