Naseby v. Patearoa. , ■;Thn Patearoa andNaseby Cricset Clubs met on Saturday, at Naseby, the weather b«ing delightful. There was a large attendance of spectators. The match resulted in an easy win for Patearoa "by ten wickets. Nasaby batting first, wete all disposed *qf for the small total of 50 runs. The bowling of M'Lean and M'Skimming, combined , ;with r excellent fielding of the Patearoa team, being responsible for the small' score. Patearoa in their innings compiled 107,..M'Alpine 28, M* Skimming 18, Chirnside 18, being the principal scorers. Naseby in their second innings replied with 66, Pinder 20 and Raven wood 11 being the chief scorers. With ten runs to win, Patearoa responded without the loss of a wicket. Play was kept going till close on time. The Naseby > fielding [ and batticg was undoubtedly below I their true form, and, should Bhow an | improvement in " their next game. (Practice makes perfect) Tommy ' Deehan, as wicket-keeper for Naseby, put up a great performance in taking five men behind the wickets,, all off their bats—a good record.
