HIDE AND SKIN REPORT.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. report as follows— Rabbitakins: —We held our usual fortnightly sale on Monday, the. 10th instant, when we submitted a large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. The Crttalogues submitted at auction were larger than ÜBual on account of there being no sale during the previous week. Competition was not so keen aB at our previous sale 'an<l prices all round were on a lower scale than those ruling of late. This due to the fact that buyers' cables from Home forecasted a further decline. On the other hand skins are now very much off season, and this also must be taken into account. The following is a range of values obtained at auction: —

Runners and suckers to 7$ per lb, ricks lOd to 12d,summers to lljd, mixed broken and hawK torn 13d to 14d, . autumns 13d to 15Jd, springs 12d to 14 jd, incoming winters 15J to D6Jd, outgoing winters 14£ d to 18£ d, second - winter blacks 24d to 30d, prime winter blacks 82d to 39|d, prime winter fawns 24d to 26d, prime winter does 3l)d to 34d, second winter does 23d to 30d, super wintor bucks 23d to 26d, prime winter bucks 19d to 23d, second winter bucka 15d to 17d, hareskins to 20d, horsehair 17Jd to 18Jd, catskinß damaged to 14d each. Sheepskins—We held.our fortnightly sale on Tuesday, tho 11th instant, when we submitted a large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Competition throughout was vary keen ani prices all round were fully equal to late ruling rates, and in the case of well got up full woolled skins prices wer« slightly in advance. Quotations are as folbws Fuji woolled halfbreds BJd to 9£d, half woolled halfbreds 7d to Bid, inferior woolled halfbreds 5d to 6d, full woolled fine crossbreds B£d to half woolled fine crossbreds 7d to 7Jd, lull woolkd crossbred 8d to Bid, half woolled crossbred *id to 7d, best merinos up to medium to guod 6d to 7d, beat hoggets 7Jd to Bd, half bred dead 7d to 7Jd, crossbred dead 6d to 7£d, merino dead 6d to 7d, dead hoggets 6d to 7Jd, fine crossbred dead to threequarter bred dead to 7d, pelts 3d to sd, best lambs 6d to 6gd. Hides: — Our usual fortnightly sale was held on Thursday, the 6th instant, when we submitted a moderate catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was not so keen as at our last Bale owing largely to the fact that shippers were not operating so # freely, aa they are unable to get S {their hides away on account ol the » strike. This was more noticeable, a however, in the lighter hides. Stout ® Sieavy hides suitable for tanners sold ' at values practically on a par with Hate rates.
