SALVATION ARMY.
General Booth Memorial. With the passing of the late General Booth, London Headquarters has suggested the advisability of each country doing something as a tangible memorial, and as it happens, this proposal harmonises with a plan N.Z. Headquarters were considering for their work in this country. It has, therefore, been decided to erect, in the City of Wellington, a Training College to accommodate 50 students, or cadets as they are designated. The site has already been purchased, and the whole scheme works out at an estimated cost of £IO,OOO. As a neucleus of the fund for the scheme the S.A. has>lready about £2OOO, The members and adherents of the Army will raise a considerable amount by personal donations, etc., but it is hoped that tne numbers of friends and admirers of the life and work of the late General throughout the Dominion will also rise to the occasion and participate in such an important event. An appeal is made to the residents of Naseby and district, and donations will be taken charge of by the Editor of the Chronicle. Small amounts as well as large ones will be gladly received, the greater the number the greater will be the thankgiving. Names of donors of £1 or over wll be enrolled in the vestibule of the Training College as a perpetual witness to the fact that the donors were Interested in the memorial. It has also been arranged that the names of all donors of between 5s and £1 will be compiled in a book which will be specially bound and kept at the Training College as a memento of the occasion.
