CRICKET. Ranf urly v. Patearoa. The following report was held over from last week: — " The first Association match of the season between the above named clubs was played at Ranf urly • on Saturday last Ranf urly batted : first and compiled 147 runs. M'Kay 63, T. Forrester 38, Bell 11, and Symes 9, batted well, the two former carrying the score from 30 to 103. Patearoa's innings rlosed for 76 runs. J. Wilson 13, R. M'Skimming 13, E. Carr 10, played really well for their runs. This gave Ranfurly a lead of 71 mns on the first innings. An hour and a half being still left for Ranfurly started their second innings, and when stumps were drawn had scored 65 runs for four wickets Sayer 34 not out, Baker 12 not out, and C Diack 13, were the principal scorers Ranfurl;won by 71 runs on the first inning:. The fielding on both" sides was good H. Cooper and 0. Cambridge acted as umpires, while S. Slater and D. Chirnside kept the scores. & very success• ful dance was held in the evening.
