THE MANIOTOTO FANCIERS' SHOW.

TO THE KDITOR, Sir, —I noticed that the energetic secretary of the Maniototo Fanciers' Club makes an earnest —nay, poetic appeal to our fellow-townsmen to roll up to the entertainment to be held on behalf of the above club. I quite agree with him and hope there will be a bumper house on the occasion. But why persist in fixing the date of the show, year after year, so late in the season? It seems to me like flying in the face of nature. Surely an earlier date could be fixed, so let us hope that after the experiences of the last few weeks we will have learned many things and amongst others that: '

"The snow, the snow, the beautiful snow," Will have pointed a moral to those who

should know— To those who seem slack and a little bit

slow— That the Bth of July is too late for the

show. What the future may give us of course we don't know, So while we are here let us be apropos, And perhaps by-and-by when we're all down below The Bth of July will just suit for the show. I am, &c, Disappointed.
