A team of juvenile cricketers from Patearoa and Ranfurly visited Nnseby on Saturday, 11th inst. to try conclusions with the local boys. Patearoa batting first ran up the respectable score of 69.' H...Kennedy 18, R. "jVl'Skimmings 15, P. Bleach 16, making the majority of the runs. Naseby boys regppnded with 61, of which R. Black made a capital 23 not out and R. Paisley 11. In Patearoa's second , innjngs H. Kennedy 13, M'SkirrilAingj 19, Carr 13, ' materially helped to, ?i\ise the total .to 61, leaving Naseby to get 70 to win. Deeha'n 13, and ■ Boddington 15 were the only ones to attain double figures and the innings closed for 5.9 runs, leaving Patearoa' victors by 9 runs. Some of the bowling was excellent, and a word of praise i,s due to young ten-year-old' Kennedy who sent down . some first-class balls. The fielding was erratic, some being brilliant, some being wretched. Paisley made the finest catches, of the. day.
