PATEAROA CRICKET CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. ' (By Our. Patearoa Coiirespondent.) The annual meeting of the above club was held on Saturday night last when the following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing season .-—President, Mr Jas. Coram ; vice-presidents,. Messrs G. Simpson, J. Ledingham, A. Cameron', P. M'Atamney, \V, Hall, sen., Sullivan and Moore ; match committee, Messrs J. Wilson, 0. Cambridge, F. Schrick, J. Johnston and D O'Dowd; captain, Mr J. WilsOn ; deputy-captain, Mr P. Schrick ; secretary, Mr J. Johnston; treasurer, Mr D. O'Dowd. Mr "Wilson being reluctant to accept the position of captain, Messrs F. Schrick and 0. Cambridge were appointed to assist him during matches. The entrance fee for the year was fixed at 7s Cd (same as last year), a proposal by Mr O'Dowd to raife the fee to half-a-guinea not being upheld by the meeting. Having been unable to attend the meeting, and not having been furnished with an account of the proceedings from any of those in authority, I have to thank one of the more humble ordinary members who was present for the above details, dry as they are. _ •September 25th, 1900. NASEBY CRICKET CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meetiug of the Naseby C.C. was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday eveuing, September 26bh. Present—MiMalcolm (m the chair), Rev. Christian, Messrs Botting, Leonard, Bethnne, I). Marshall, M'K. Marshall, A. Marslin, J. Francis, Stewart, Higgins, Browne, and J. Kirby. .The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance-sheet was read and adopted :—Subscriptions, £7 2s Cd ; expended for material, £6 is. The following Q'lice-bearers were elected : —President, A. L Herd man, Esq.; vicepresidents, I)r Macknight, Messrs M'Ennis, John Brown, and S- Geddes ; secretary and treasurer, Rev. G. \V. Christian ; committee, Messrs Malcolm, Leonard, Bolting, Lightfoot, and Gossage ; captain, Mr K. VV. Bethune ; deputy-captain, Mr A. Marslin ; custodian, Mr G. Botting ; matchcommittee, captain, deputy-captain and Mr Malcolm. Proposed by Mr Leonard, and seconded by the. Rev. G. \V. Christian—That the subscription be 7s 6d for the ensuing season. —Carried. The batting' averages for the last year were read, and showed that Mr J. P. Malcolm was the winner of Mr Bethune's trophy with an average of 29 6. Proposed by Mr Leonard, and seconded by Mr A. Marslin—That Messrs Christian, Gossage, Botting and Kirby represent the club in any movement having for its object the erection of a pavilion on the cricket ground.—Carried. Proposed by Rev-. Christian, and seconded by Mr Marslin —That a hearty vote of thanks lie accorded to Mr Bethune for his generous gift of a trophy to the winner of the bat ting average. —Carried. It was resolved that the opening day be fixed for Thursday, the 11th October. A vote of thanks to the retiring officebearers, and a vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
