COMPLIMENTARY CONCERT TO MR BLUE.

The following extract from the N.O. Times will probably interest Naseby musicians and the- public* generally:— " The farewell concert to one of the most popular musicians in Oamaru took place in Wear-street Hall last evening. The short time that Mr D. Blue has been resident here has served to win for him the personal esteem of all who have met him, and the admiration of all who.have heard him handle his instrument. He lias in addition been mos.t witling, as Mr Mollison said in opening the proceedings, to help every needy or worthy object to the extent of his abilities, even when at times it was at spine risk to his always precarious health. The regret with which all lovers of music said farewell to him last evening was the ■ greater because it is his physical condition that demands the change. He carries with him the respect of townspeople and their genuine wishes for an improvement i'll his new domicile, which we understand is to be in : Naseby. Tb.e audience last evening was large, it was appreciative, ready to show appreciation, and ha\ing a good programme did so repeatedly, and quite demonstratively,"

Judging by the eulogistic manner in which the Times refers to Mr Blue's skill as a player on the violin, Naseby is to be congratulated on the prospective acquisition to its musical circle of such a talented player.
