Salisbury's Pride was awarded first prize at the Taieri as a yearling, and second at the Otago A. and P. Society's Show, held at Tahuna Park, being beaten by Mrs Millcr'scolt Earl of Fife.- Since then be hns won a number of first and champion prizes. His sire was the celebrated horse Lord Salisbury, imported from Scotland by Mr J. F. Kitching, Moa Flat Station, at a cost of 1500 guineas. The dam of Bar None is Mrs Miller's wellknown brood marc, Taieri Lass, by Taieri Tom. .Taieri Tom, owned by the late Jamc3 Slinnd, Abbotsford, Taieri, was by Mr Grant's Gowrio—Sir Colin, imported from Scotland by the late George Bookless, Esq. Sir Colin's dam, Jess, by Old Sir Colin, was never beaten in Scotland. Taieri Tom's dam, Young Nancy, by Glasgow Geordio (imp.)
