tbebeavr rains the Nft§ Tear's night concert of the Caledonian 1 Society attracted a very large audience, wbd seemed to hare come prepared to enjov td. the full the entertainment provided. All of the items on the programme were warmly; and many of them, especially those the" mission of which is to create a heartv laugh; were enthusiastically received. We have room only for * summarv of the items:—= Band, waltz, " Buttercups" and Daisies "; Mr R. M 'Bride, song •• Pat O'Hara " (encored); Mr Carter, solo, « The warrior bold " (encore; - " Ine link divine"); Misses Moore and Hore. duct. " Convent bells (encored); Mrs R. H. Browne, solo. " Jessie's dream " (encored) ; Mr J. Lennane. baritone snloj - Scenes that are brightest"; Mr Eardky, "'lis but a little faded flowpr" (encore, _ " Hearts of oak "); Miss Jessie Brown, solo, " Shadow-land " ; Mr Belli*, solo, *• Tbe oljl hotel caught fire" (encore, recitation) } Mr. Lundon, solo, " The soldiers of tbe Queen." (encore, "The baby on tbe shore"): Miaf Guffie, piano solo, "Scotch Airs"; Mr H. Moore, cornet solo." You'll remember me "; Mr and Mrs R. H. Browne. " Comical court; • ship" (encored); Mr Graham, solo, "The"* cat came back " (encored); Messrs A; sild J: -■. Mesdamcs Lundon and Browne and Mi*Guffie played the accompaniirierita. The! musical part of the programme was managed by Mr Lundon. The Mayor, Mr Herdmaaj - - occupied the chair. Tbe dance which followed the conoeft wll very largely attended;
