James Madisox 2.17}. from Bell Allen by Vick's Ethan Allen, Jr. (9203), sire of Prince Allen 2.27 ; second dam Belmont Bell by Owen Dale (sire of dams of Busby John 3.27. Freestone 2.29. Lady Ellen 2.29*. Susie 2.265); third clam by Grey Eagle. * James Madison 2.175, is by Anteeo 2.16-p son of Electioneer (125), from Lucv Patchen by George M. Patchen, Jr. (31). and is now at the stud in California, where he has left a number of recent winners. amongst which may be mentioned Addison 2.21). Lauderdale is an exceptionally fine looking horse full of quality, of fine trotting action, and. though not developed or raced before leaving America, was full of promise, and won at the first time of starting the Jubilee Handicap (in saddle), two miles, at Tahuna Park, on July 19th, 1897, time 5.37 ; since won Winter Handicap (saddle), two miles, at the C.T.C. Meeting, May 19th, 1898, time 5.10*, and later High-Class Harness Handicap, C.T.C. Meeting, August 10th, 2 miles, time 5.7. He is one of the best tempered horses at the stud, and is moreover a sure Joal-getter. LAUDERDALE.
