K O KONG A. A public meeting was held here on Saturday evening last to discuss a few matters of interest to the district. There' was not a bflß attendance and Mr K. Williamson was called to the The following-resolutions were carried unanimously(l) That the chairman write the Chief-postmaster, Dun* edin, and request him to have Kokonga put in direct communication with Naaeby in re the telephone. (2) Tbat the chairman write the traffic manager of railways, Dnnedin, requesting him to appoint a permanent caretaker at the railway station here. The question of forming a medical club in the district was then discussed but nothing was agreed upon, so the matter was allowed Pt drop in the meantime. December, 27, 1898.
