TUAPEKA ELECTION.
The following candidates have been nominated for the Tuapcka seat : Mr Robert Gilkison, solicitor, Clyde. Mr John Johnson Ramsay, commercial traveller, Anderson's Bay. Mr Charles Champion Rawlins, mine manager. Inland Blo^k. Mr James Si in, farmer, Crookston. Mr Henry Symes, auctioneer, Alexandra South. The Times' Alexandra South correspondent telegraphs On Saturday evening, Mr Gilkison, onn of the candidates for Tuapcka, addressed a crowded meeting. He hail a most enthusiastic reception. A unanimous vote of coufi Icuce was accorded him. The Dredge Owners' Association at a meeting pledged themselves to support Mr Gilkisoti's candidature." The rrtiremnnt of Mr Sim is said to lie likelv as he is unwell, which reduces the nuinlier of candidates lo four. Mr Gilkison is meeting with enthusiastic receptions in the upper part of the electorate. Mr Synios has also been well received Mr Ramsay has not fairly begun hia campaign vet.
