At the Police Court, yesterday, P. J, Bellet, licensee of a hotel at St. Ivilda, was fined £1 and Costs, on a charge of selling liquor during prohibited hours, vhs., at 4 a.m. on December 2Sth. Bellet was also fiued on a chaice of committing a breach of the peace on the same, date, by assaulting a man named Meadcj who was one of the witnessss in the last case, he being the man to whom liquor was sold. AN HONOUR FOR ST. BATHANS. Tho result of the competition for Education Board scholarship is announced. Alex. Eagle of St. Bathans is tenth on the junior scholarship list.
