, , . BALAXCE-SHEET. . The balance-sheet for the year was then read and adopted on the motion of the chairman, seconded by,Mr,C. Hore. Tlie balance-sheet showed that they had commenced the. year t with a credit Balance of £1 19s 8d and the -receipts for the. year amounted to £U 13s, totalling £l3 12s Bd, against which the Vxpenditure had been £5 13s in payment 6t accounts contracted in previous years, and .£6 9s fed in payment of I 1896 accounts', leaving a credit balaube in hand of £1 10s 2.1;/ ... ELECTIoif OF OFFICERS". On the motion of Mr J. .Marslio, seconded by Mr S. Young,.. Mr Guffie was re-elected president. Before accepting th'e /appointment Mr Guffie stated .he .wished to return the thanks for tlie. honour they .had conferred on him in electing him president for the Dast number of years'. He did riot desirie to monopolise the position, and thought it would perhaps be advisahfe to have a change. This the members present did not consider at all necessary and the motion, was carried unanimously. Mr C. Cogaii was re-elected secretary- on the motion of Mr K. Marshall, seconded by Mr ; R. 1 ; Francib, ... Mr Sneestpn moved, and Mr J. Marslin seconded—That ,the number of vice-presi-dents, be reduced to .four and that Messrs Malcolm, Herdrnan, Wilson, and Dr Church be appointed.—Carried. Mr Sneeston declined re-election to tlie position of captain. , On the motion .of Mr S. Reed,, seconded by .Mr.R L. Francis; Mr F: Hore Was elected to fillttie vacancy; Proposed by Mr H.
