Duxedin, April 30, Ranger Hughan reported having again inspected small grazing run section 1, block xiii., Swiuburn district, in occupation of David Dolphin, stating he found Dolphin in occupation, but that no house had been erected, and his family did not reside on the land. Consideration was deferred until Thursday, 7th May. A letter was received from William Scoffern stating that John and Isabella Freeland were not living on their small grazing run, section 1, block ix., and section 3, block xiv., Swinburn. The ranger reported that J. Freeland was exempted from residence on the run, and that he had lived on his freehold for a considerable time, but had leased his house, and now lived with his daughter. Regarding Isabella Freeland, the ranger reported that she was in possession of her section at the time of his visit, but as there was some talk about the case he recommended that an inquiry be held.—Consideration adjourned until 7th May. The Board declined the application of John Brown to transfer to S. G. Inder perpetual lease section 1, block xi. j Maniototo. Ranger Hughan reported having inspected sections 10, 14, and 23, block xil., (Blackstone district, and recommended that they be reduced as follows:—Section 10, from 17s. 6d. to 12s. 6d. per acre; section 14, from 20s. to 155.; and section 23, from 17s. 6d. to 12s. 6d.—Recommended to be notified at the reduced prices accordingly.
