THE LAND BOARD

By Electric Telegraph.

(BY OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.)

Ddnedix, April 24. The application made by Edward A. Amies for a right to graze stock over Crown lands at Maniototo oil the opposite side of the sludge-channel from that granted to Mr. Inder on behalf of the Maniototo Farming Company, was considered. A report from the ranger was received, in which he said that no Crown lands were unoccupied.—* Decision was withheld pending a further report from Ranger Barron. Neil Brown wrote offering to lease sections 3 and 4, block iv., Gimmerburn, at Is. per acre per annum, at present under license to Watson Shennan. The Board could not see their way to withdraw the land, as it is at present a forest reserve. W. J. Lory" asked to be exempted from residence on section 2, block u., Tautuku, and section 2, block n., Rinm, until August next, as it would be inconvenient for him to occupy the laud until then.—Residence dispensed with as requested by applicant. W. H. Ash appeared, on behalf of Mary Allison, requesting that section 2, block v.", Maniototo, be notified under the Amendment of the Land Act at a reasonable capital value, the agricultural lease of same bavins expired. —Government to be recoinmeudecl to revoke the proclamation setting apart the land as agricultural lease, and to notify the same with valuation for improvements, the Chief Surveyor to be requested to obtain from Mr. Barron a valuation of the improvements, and to suggest as to the value of the laud. G. F. Rowlatt (on behalf of Robert Little) objected to the application of James Spedderi to have section 9, block in., Gimmerburn, reduced in price, as he himself had tendered considerably in advance of the upset, ami was i.ow willing tc pay 30s per acre for the land, which was greatly in excess of the amount to which ic was now suggested the price be reduced.—The letter was minuted as ;l received."
