Afire broke out this-morning at New Plymouth. Three buildings were destroyed. The total insurances are £2250. A number of members left this evening in the steamer Stella to personally inspect the New Plymouth Harbor Works.
The Albatross has arrived from the Islands. She reports the wreck of the Auckland brigantine, Meg Merrilees, which left Suva for Levuka. When beating along the reef she missed stays, and went ashore. She was left high and dry. The crew were engaged in dismantling her when the Alba f ross left.
