CABLEGRAMS.

(From our Dunedin correspondent.) London, Septembeer 10. The following are the scores made during the first day's play. Australians, Ist innings, 157. Gentlemen, Ist innings, 76 for two wickets. Germany proposes that common action should be taken by the Great Powers to make the Porte execute the Berlin Treaty stipulation. England and Italy consented contingent on the other contracting Powers also agreeing. There are 108,000 destitute people in the fever districts of the United States. The deaths are increasing, and the fever is spread ing. There has been severe fighting at Los Bihoes, where the Austrians were defeated, wtyh the loss of several hundred men, and returned to Tavalage. A fourth of the British forces at Cyprus are sick with fever. The European factories, at Dahomey, have been pillaged.

Messrs. Cargills, Gibbs and Co. received the following wool telegram from Messrs. Schwartze and Co.—London, September 9, Sales continue. The attendance of both home and foreign buyers has decreased. Prices for scoured, particulaily inferior, and faulty scoured, on an average, Id to l£d per lb. lower than at the commencement of the present series. Crossbreds are neglected. Considerable quantities have been withdrawn.
