'"J- T) FEKAFF) tfllrps thp nrosoni' opportunity of informing residents. of the Northern Goldfields and the general public that his Factory being replete with every convenience, he is now turning out an article not to be equalled. Mr. Feraud has succeeded in producing AROMATIC TOKIC BITTEE "WTSES, which are not only agreeable beverages, but also have excellent medicinal qualities. The following is Professor Black's report: "University, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Laboratory. Class Beverages. November sth, 1875. I have examined for Mr. J. D. Feraud, of -Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of vAromatic Tonic Bitters, with the 'following result : No. 827 is a sherry colored, and No. 828 is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent showing the purity of the water and other substances employed iii their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acid chemicu.l reaction, and possess an agreeable, cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation of sweetness, arising from the sacoharino matter, of the fruit of which they are the fermented extract. I have also czamincd the aromatic and other flavoring substances used by Mr. Feraud;' in their manufacture, and from the proportions in -ffhieh they are blended with the fruit wine, they must be pronounced perfectly 1 safe, and free from anything like deleterious I properties. ~ I consider this wine, therefore, an agreeable and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk of water, 1 they will make a good cooling summer drink'" JAMES G.
