The forthcoming meeting is the only one at which any new publicans or bottle licenses can be granted or renewals of licenses made. The schoolmaster;: Mr. Menzies was; also present. .The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. An account of £3, for cutting, carfcing, and interlacing the wires of the newlyerected fence with scrub, was passed for pay,ment. Permission was ..granted : the schoolmaster to remove the-Vdividing fence to a more convenient position. The Clerk read a ■ circular from tlxo Education Board requesting an expression of opinion in the matter of levying a tax on the rateable property in the district for school purposes. li'.esolved That the committee are of opinion, that it would be undesirable in the meantime that such a tax should be levied.
