The ' Guardian' is pleased to learn that the Provincial Government, acting on the vote passed last session of the Council on the motion of Mr. Reeves, have secured the services of Mr. Ullrich, from the Government School of Mines in Victoria, for the purpose of having this gentleman to visit our various mining centres, and report on the different working and geological features of our Goldfields. Mr. Ullrich arrived by the Claud Hamilton on Saturday, and he, in company with Mr. Mllerrow, Chief Surveyor, has started on his tour of inspection, his first visit en route being to the Shag Valley reefs, in the Palmerr stou district. We regret Mr. Ullrich's time .. is so limited (five weeks is all. we understand, he can spare), as we should have probably a more extended report, had he time at command ; but, from Mr. Ullrich's great ience in Victoria, we are confident his visit will result in much good to our mining interest, arid that after his inspection of some of our rich claims, such as the Cromwell Company's, he will take back with him to Victoria : a very favorable impression of the mineral wealth of our Province. Mr. Harvey, one of - the directors of the Shag Valley Mining Company, accompanies Messrs. Ullrich and M'Kerrow.
