COURT. (Before H. AV. Ilobmsoii, Esq., H.M.) John Eoss and Thomas Connor were each, fined 20s. ior being drunk and disorderly. ..Police v. Collis.r-7-rSelling liquor without a lu-eiise.. Adjourned to Nov. 18, in order to secure the attendance of a necessary-witness. Hjorring and Millar v. Baysley.— Debt, £6 Bs. sd. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for £G Bs. sd. and costs. Donaldson v. Epdgers. Debt £2 ss. 6d. - Service insufficient. New summons to issue for next court das' Nov. 18. Same v. £4 lis. Id Service insufficient. New summons granted for Nov. 11. Warden's Court.—October 21. (Before H. W. Robinson, Esq., Warden.)
Griffin v. Taitand Cockerel!. Same v. George Cockerell.-—These two cases Were almost exactly similar. The complaint was that the defendants had unlawfully fenced iii a portion of a roadway or track in common use. The Warden visited the spot, and after hearing both sides, inflicted a penalty of £2 10s., with costs lis., in each case. It appeared that it would be possible by making a good culvert to divert the road so as not to necessitate the pulling down of the fences erected by the defendants.. The Wavilen therefore gave t-aem tiie option of Within 1-1 days constructing the culvert It came out thai the defendants had never applied 'for residence areas, but :the Warden allowed this omission to be corrected.
