LICENSED VICTUALLERS ACT.
(To the Editor of t-lie Mott> t t Ida. Cnito^ici/Ej Sir, : —I- wou T d se. s k to ascertain through your columns whether or not a>y al era ! ion hns been made of late in tie Licenced Victuallers Act, .whereby parties holding - business licenses arc permitted to retail beer, spirits and wines '? Should such alteration have occurred, I think publicity might have been given, so that the public in general, might have.the option: as :to where they should imbibe their poisons. Again, if the sale of such articles in retail quantities, other than by licensed victuallers, be illegal, it shows great apathy in that body to their own interests, as well as remissness on the part of the authorities to allow tie very, general pratrtice complained of. Trusting the irregularity if one may be stayed.—l am, &c., Query.
