Greorge.' . ...'•■ Tkeasitrek': James Thomson. ■■■• All..who desire to secure health to a community, and at the ; same time to reduce the probability of accidents from fire to a minimum, must be fully alive to the great —the inestimable I—advantages 1 —advantages to be derived from a sufficient and regular supply of water. ; Though nature has in this respect ■ been "bouni iful in New Zealand in furnishing this great luxury and necessary of life, human invention has, in many instances, so hedged in its acquisition by legal and other enactments that, to obtain its advantages, it has become somewhat difficult—more particularly in towns within the limits of Groldfields ; and especially those towns which have not availed themselves of the right of being declared Municipalities. G-reat,. however, though these difficulties may be and are, the residents of Naseby must be cognisant of the fact that not only their health, but, to a very great extent, the protection and salvation of their property, must depend upon a regular and adequate supply of the pure element. Impressed with- these convictions, a preliminary directory has been formed, having for its object the formation of a Company, whose aim will be to ; provide the necessary supply of water to'meet the requirements of the. town, and to -make the speculation a reproductive one to the shareholders. It is proposed that the Company should be styled t -&■ "JSTaseby Water Works"Company." The Provisional Directory feel sure that the public of Kaseby will recognise alike the advantages, of the sell erne, and appreciate the motives by which they have been actuated; and that, .they will experience no. difficulty in disposing of the number of shares.
