The dam of Hero was an imported Clydesdale mare from Twofold Bay, bred .by the Clyde Company. „ Hero was a prize-taker at 'the Northern Pastoral and Agricultural Show held at Oamaru in 1863. He also took the first prize at the "Waikouaiti and Shag Yalley Agricultural and Pastoral Show, held at YVaikouaiti in April, 1867. Terms - - - £4 10 ; G-room's fee, ss.
