(From our own Correspondent.) It is difficult at all times to find here sufficient matter to make up a letter; but at present tlie place is more than usually dull—water, that great desideratum being just now ratter scarce. The Homeward Bound Company are at present engaged in the very pleasant operation of washing up; but, owing to their tail race not being of sufficient depth, they will not be able now to clear much bottom. The Mo ant Ida mail still takes nine days to travel to Hyde— atleast tne ' Ciironiclo ' is nine "days old when it arrives here. In truth, our rulers are the personification cf Wisdom.
