Mr W. B. .McKenzie, Postmaster, who has been on annual leave, resumed duty yesterday. Mr G. Williams, of the local telephone exchange, is at present on annual leave. After an illness of several months, the death occurred yesterday of Mr- Janies Curran, an old and well-known resident of Shannon. Deceased, who was in his 79th year, was well-known in racing circles as a breeder and owner of horses.

•Mr and Mrs S. Bills, of Petone, are week-end visitors to Foxton for the Longman-Bills wedding and are the guests of Mrs Bills’ parents, Mr and Airs F. Robinson, of Cook Street.
