ALL SAINTS’ CHOIR.

PRESENTATION TO MISS R. THANE. The members of All Saints’ Choir met at the residence of Mr and Mrs H. A. Hannay, of Purcell St. last evening' and a. very happy social gathering was held in honour of one of their fellow members, Miss Rita Thane, whose marriage to Mr V. B. F. Collins, takes place at an early date. The guests were received by Mrs Hannay, who was wearing a frock of black satin beaute and silver lame, and the guest of the evening had chosen a smart frock of navy blue, georgette, effectively finished with gold braiding. Dancing, games and competitions pleasantly whiled away the hours, and alt the conclusion of a delicious supper, opportunity was taken by Mr Hannay (Choirmaster) to refer to Miss Thane’s faithful service as a member of the Choir. Mr Hannay made eulogistic reference, to Miss Thane’s faithful service and regular attendance over a period of years and expressed the regret felt by all at the departure from Foxton of such a valuable member as Miss Thane had proved herself to he. It would be difficult, he said, to adequ. a.tely fill her position, in the ranks of the choir, and, on behalf of her fellow members, Mr Hannay called on Mss Thane to accept a crystal witch-bowl as. a token of their appreciation and. esteem, at the same time extending to her their very best wishes for her future hap. piness l . Rev. E. W. Burg-in endorsed the remarks made by Mr Hannay and wished Mss Thane every happiness in the future. The presentation of a cigarettebox with matching ash-trays, was made to Mr Collins, ivho had also been a faithful choir member and had served the Church as a layreader. Mr Hannay, on making the presentation, referred to Mr Collins’ work, as a choir, member during his residence in Foxton and the best wishes of his fellow members were cordially extended to him. Musical honours were accorded Mss Thane and Mr Collins who suitably acknowledged the presentations. Dancing was then indulged in and a very jolly function was brought to a close at a late hour 1 .
