British Postal Orders: Up to 2/6 Id; 3s and ss, 2d; 10s, 15s and £l, 3d; all plus 25 per cent, exchange rate. Private Letter Boxes: If applicant resides within Postman’s delivery £1 10/- per annum; if outside Postman’s delivery 10/- pej annum. „ Registration Fee: Letters, 3d. Cable Rates: For all British Empire points a flat rate charge of 1/3 a word for a message at the full rate in all cases in which the previous full rate was above that level. Code ( I CDE) telegrams, Deferred (LC) telegrams, and D aily - Letter telegrams will be two-thirds, one half and one third of the full rate of 1/3 per word. The minimum charge as for 25 words is applicable to daily letter telegrams, i.e., 10/5 and 5d each extra word. Australia: Ordinary 4|d, Code (CDE) 2 7/10d per word. Night Letter Telegrams 3/9 for twentyfive words or less, each extra word over twenty-five, 2d. Letter Postage Rates for Overseas: All British Countries (and Egypt), except Australia: lid each half ounce. Australia and Dependencies Id each ounce. (This rate will be increased to lid each half ounce when the trans-Tasman air service commences). All Foreign countries 21d first ounce, lid each succeeding ounce. It is emphasised that the 21d rate will apply to all foreign countries, including the United States of America and Hawaii, the Argentine Republic, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, Roumania, Yugoslavia, and others to which the postage rate has been Id. Letter within New Zealand (also Cook Islands and Western Samoa) Id first ounce, Id each additional ounce. Commercial Papers (Formal Business Documents or Papers not in the Nature of Letters); and Printed Papers (Printed Circulars, Periodicals, Books, etc.). Inland: — Commercial papers and printed papers: Id for each 2oz. up to 11 lb. (Articles over 111 b. in weight are charged at parcel-post rates). Overseas: — Commercial papers? 2sd. for firs! 10 oz., and Id. for each additional 2 oz. up to 41b. Printed Papers: Id. for each 2 oz. up to 41b. - PACKETS. Inland: — id. for each 2 oz. up to 14 )b. (Articles over 141 b. in weight are charged at parcel-post rates). Overseas:— Sample packets (without sale able value): Id. for first 4 oz., anu id. for each additional 2 oz. up to 1 lb. for foreign packets and up to 5 lb. for Empire packets. MAGAZINES. Inland: — Magazines registered at O f.O for Inland Transmission. —If net over 2 oz.: Id. (printed paper rate); if not over 2 oz.: Each copy, Id. for each 8 oz. or fraction thereof. Unregistered magazines: id. for each 2 oz. (printed paper rate). Overseas:— Registered or unregistered magazines for all countries: Id. for each 2 oz. (printed-paper rate). . Inland Parcels: Not over 3!bs.. 6d; 3 to 7 lbs, 1/-; 7 to 141bs, 1/(5: 14 to 21 lbs, 2/-; 21-to 281bs, 2 / 6: Australia 8d first lb. and 6d each other lb. up to 11 lb. United Kingdom 2/- up to 3 lb.; 3/4 above 31b. up to 7 lb.; 4/6 above 71b. up to 4 lb. Late Fee, Id, Registration 3d. Insurance on parcels, 4d up to £2. Charge for Private Letter Boxes, £1 10/- per annum. : Money Orders: —New Zealand, £lO or less, 6d commission and 3d each succeeding £5 or fraction thereof.
