Mrs H. Dustin is at present on a visit to Wanganui. Miss F. McKenzie left Foxton on Monday on a holiday visit to Dunedin. The friends of Rev, Father Foley will be pleased to learn that he has returned to Foxton, after spending some time in hospital in Wellington. Rev. R. Grice, who has been awav on deputation work in connection with the Methodist Home Mission Department, returned to Foxton, yesterday. Mr T. Kane, M.A., headmaster of the Foxton District High School, and president of the New Zealand Educational Institute, will official!} open the first annual ball of the Manawatu branch of the N.Z.E.I. 'Mrs D. Ball, who has been spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs ,J. Newth, of Hall Street, left on Tuesday for Sydney where she will join Mr Ball and together they will return to South Africa. At the music examinations conducted' in. Palmerston N. by Mr Felix Swinstcad for the Royal School of Music, London, Miss Mavis G. Francis, of Oroua Downs, was successful in gaining her L.R.SIM. (teachers’ certificate). Th death has occurred of Sir Harold Beauchamp, the prominent Wellington businessman;. Deceased was born at Ararat (Victoria) on November 15, 1858. He was for many years, an outstanding figure in tße Dominion’s commercial life. Mrs E. Ebbett, of Johnston St,, is on a holiday visit to Napier after spending the week-end in Wellington with her son, Mr A. Ebbett. Before returning to Foxton, Mrs Ebbett proposes spending a few days in Woodville.
